The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) indicates COVID-19 has put the market on pause, as REALTORS® and the public adhere to health authority rules and government guidelines on the pandemic. The extent to which real estate is affected may depend on how prolonged the effects of the pandemic are & how quickly Canadians are able o return to work after the fact. For now the Government has officially classified the real estate industry as a non health essential service which means we’re still able to assist Buyers and Sellers that have an urgent need or are already in the process of buying or selling but its definitely not business as usual.
First and foremost, the safety of everyone including the public in general is our priority so business has been adjusted in the following key areas.
- We are no longer hosting public Open Houses until further notice. In fact, the real estate board has removed that feature from all MLS listings.
- Sellers are permitted to hold off showings, we are encouraging viewings by virtual tour as much as possible at this time.
- Tenants are not required to open their homes for showings.
- Buyer showings are strictly by appointment for only the most serious and urgent buyers; Buyers must complete the travel and health disclosure form and use masks, latex gloves, hand sanitizer and refrain from touching anything inside the home.
If you currently have a transaction in the pipeline with us that is due to complete within the next month or two there should be no issues, or delays as paperwork can be signed electronically.
