How to show your home some Valentines day love!

How to show your home some Valentines day love!

Homes need regular organization and special occasions provide the perfect opportunity to do it, as you bring new things into your home.

Gather and sort through all the clutter, remove anything that doesn't belong there. Put everything in its place. Donate, repurpose, recycle and sell what you can, throw out the rest.

For large items, some organizations will pick things up from your front door/porch while others require drop off.

Home organizing isn’t just a do-it-one-time-and-forget-it sort of thing.

Tackling a small cleaning task or two each day, in fact, is one of the best ways to prevent all your organizing and decluttering work from being undone.

As you organize areas, give them a good dusting, wiping, vacuuming and/or mopping, working your way through the entire home.

We tend to spend the most time in rooms that are comfortable. Decide how to add even more of what you like to anhance its coziness and enjoyment.

Be sure to love your bedroom. This should be your happy place where you can escape and enjoy spending time – not just where you sleep. Buy some new bedding, pillows, throws and other décor.

Plants and art are another great way to add some life to any living space. Use art to express yourself, why not put the money you made by selling unwanted items towards a piece you’ll enjoy for years?

Virtually every household has areas that need some extra attention, like a scuffed baseboards that could use a bit of filler and a fresh coat of paint, a closet with a loose door or light fixtures with burnt out bulbs.

If you have kids, household maintenance presents a great opportunity to spend quality time with them as you show them how to complete a few tasks. Show them how to paint, to hang a picture frame or replace light bulbs. Show your family and home the love by having fun and working togther.
